Current Drinkers and Underage Drinking
According to figures from the latest (2014) National Survey, 52.7% of those surveyed said they were current drinkers or an estimated 139.6 million people. That number is slightly up from 136.8 million in 2013.
Underage Current Drinkers:
12 – 13 years old: 168,000
14 – 15 years old: 722,000
16 – 17 years old: 1.98 million
18 – 20 years old: 5.78 million
That is 8.65 million illegal underage drinkers total.
